Services

  • Writing

My writing process starts with research and a thorough review of any relevant materials. I either submit subsequent drafts for collaborative revisions or complete them alone, depending on the client’s needs. My editing background ensures high-quality writing throughout the process.

  • Structural Editing

Predictably, structural editing looks at the structure of a text. In non-fiction, this often entails refining and reorganizing the argument and suggesting new material when appropriate. In fiction, this editing assesses plot, character development and world-building (if applicable).

  • Copyediting

Copyediting ensures that every sentence is clear, correct, and consistent with all the others. Copyediting can focus solely on mechanical issues or it can include “stylistic editing”, which improves coherence and flow by refining the existing language of a text.

  • Manuscript Evaluation

Manuscript evaluation is a detailed assessment of the main features of a manuscript. It can comment on everything from writing style to plor or argument. This service is ideal if you’re looking for big-picture critiques to guide a rewrite, rather than the full intervention of a structural edit.

  • Indexing

Indexing produces an index—just like those in the back of a book. I analyze a text to create a comprehensive list of names, places, concepts, themes, and the relationships between these factors, so that readers can easily access information on these topics.
